Event Details

Architectural innovation in itself serves no purpose unless a proper balance between private interest and common values is established. Kaan’s lecture will critically reflect on the contextual narrative as the driver of the architectural concept to generate a self-evident relation between city, building, construction and detail.

Kees Kaan is an architect and founding director of KAAN Architecten in Rotterdam; beforehand he co-founded Claus en Kaan Architecten (1987-2013). Kaan is full professor of the Chair of Complex Projects at the TU Delft, Faculty of Architecture. His research focuses on large-scale projects characterizing rapid global urbanization.
