About this concert:
Join us for an evening of thoughtful, timely, and courageous music that explores many of the inequities of our time. The concert program will cover themes such as income inequality, voting rights, anti-war protest and racial discrimination. Together, we raise our voices for the unheard and inspire ourselves and others to create a brighter, more inclusive, and peaceful future for all.
As a reflection of our commitment to enacting justice in the world and in our communities, a portion of this concert's proceeds will be donated to Project HOME, a Philadelphia-based organization that "empower adults, children, and families to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty, to alleviate the underlying causes of poverty, and to enable all of us to attain our fullest potential as individuals and as members of the broader society." Learn more on their website.
PVOP Choir will also be accepting donations in-person for Project HOME during both performance dates. Check out this list of needed items!
About the choir:
Philadelphia Voices of Pride, a 150-member LGBTQ+ and ally chorus, is a non-profit organization located in Center City Philadelphia. As a mixed-gender and mixed-voice ensemble, we perform at an artistically rigorous level, building community and finding common ground through music. We aim to provide a safe and supportive space for singers of all backgrounds to join, especially those unable to find acceptance in more traditional choruses.
