We’re turning two and we want to celebrate with you! We also need your help.
The past two years have been wonderful. We’ve hosted countless events, author talks, open mics, and community events. We’ve come to build strong relationships with so many of you and we are forever grateful for the community we’ve built.
We also want to be transparent that we might not make it to our next anniversary. Although we’ve seen such a warm reception from our community (thank you!), with astronomical rent and very slim profit margins on books, it is just incredibly hard to cover our operating expenses and keep our doors open. We are also trying to open our coffee shop in the space, Sappho Coffee, which will not only help all of us stay caffeinated while we read and write, but in business as well! We are facing significant financial obstacles to complete the necessary work to open.
We are determined to stay in business though and won’t give up without a fight!
So, we are asking you to come to our birthday party to celebrate with us AND ensure that we can stick around another year! All the funds raised from the party will go towards helping us get the coffee shop open and help pay the rent until we get there.
Come join us for a night of celebrating literature, the arts, and small business in Denver. We’ll have themed cocktails (& mocktails!), flash tattoos, a photo booth, an epic birthday cake, a little bit of drag, and an incredible silent auction and raffle.
