KCH Major Trauma Psychology Service Community Violence Networking Day

KCH Major Trauma Psychology Service Community Violence Networking Day

By King's College Hospital Major Trauma Centre Psychology Service

Overview

How can services in South East London work together across all sectors to support individuals impacted by community violence?

Join the King's College Hospital Major Trauma Centre Psychology Service for a day of networking, talks, and a workshop focussed on supporting those impacted by community violence across the lifespan.

What we hope to achieve on the day

Our goal is to bring together a diverse range of statutory and third-sector organisations to network and better understand each other’s services.

We aim to:

  • Explore the need for a public health approach in supporting those impacted by community violence.
  • Facilitate networking and knowledge-sharing among professionals from health, education, criminal justice, housing, youth services, mental health, and the voluntary sector.
  • Develop a centralised database of attending organisations, including information on services provided and referral pathways to support ongoing joint working.
  • Showcase practice and development needs through talks and presentations from a variety of organisations already engaged in successful interagency approaches.
  • Share real-life stories of individuals impacted by community violence who have benefited from collaborative intervention.
  • Host a practical workshop focused on networking and co-designing solutions to improve multi-agency pathways across South East London.

The day will feature talks from professionals from a variety of backgrounds, inlcuding:

  • Keynote speaker: Prof Martin Griffiths CBE, Clinical Director of the Violence Reduction Programme
  • Jane Bailey, Chair of South London and Maudsley (SLAM) NHS Trust
  • Dr Idit Albert, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Lead for the Pan London Major Trauma Psychology Network
