About this event
Dieufel Lamisere was born and raised in Petionville, Haiti. He trained in Haitian folkloric dance by Odette Wiener, founder and artistic director of the famous Ballet Bacoulou, and in ballet, jazz and modern with Nathalie Trouillot at Regine Mont-Rozier Trouillot Dance school. Mr. Lamisere has danced with La Compagnie des Jeunes de la Danse, Ballet Folklorique d’Haiti, Grand Ballet Haiti, Les Grand Ballets of Canada, Ethnic Dance Company and was the founder and artistic director of Capoise Dance. In connection to his work with HaitiDansCo and creating international cultural exchanges, Mr. Lamisere has been recognized by the Minister of Culture of the Dominican Republic, El Ballet Folklorico Nacional Dominicano and La Direccion General de Ballas Artes in 2017. In 2019, he was recognized by the Secretary of Culture of the state of Bahia, Brazil for his contributions in educating young Brazilian dance students in Haitian folkloric dance.
