Overview

Nordone's songs unearth pearls of truth; in churches, bars, and letters to a new found love, where nothing is ever good enough.

Beauty! Is her name now- coined from working as a waitress at Coastal Landing in 2018, when asked her name- while holding six plates of food, Kathi said, “BEAUTY.” Yes, that’s it. Beauty. And in many fashions, this name was remembered by all. “Kathi” would’ve been lost too easily. And she wanted to be remembered.

"BEAUTYBELLAJOY was the name of my Piano ~ passed down to me. 1880 Piano from Miles Thrift Store, Damariscotta, Maine, 2013. They asked for $150 ~ I paid $50 - It didn't have a high C - then I played a C up sharp black key!"

Beauty’s most recent songs are derived from Love witnessed at local Maine shops: Dunkin’ Donuts or Reunion Station, or local senior centers- from loving stories shared and remembered by people who miss their loved ones.

Kathi Nordone has recorded with Charley Larkey, the bass player on Carol King's seminal Tapestry, John Mills, Leonard Cohen's Famous Blue Raincoat, and, most recently, while living in Maine, Rick McRae of George Strait's "Ace in the Hole" band. She worked almost too hard here, and with the money, made her Album “Greater than Gold”, the title inspired by the Damariscotta Baptist church Steeple Bell, ringing for the first time, and after 10 years of living on 26th street, singing at Inn Along the Way, Lincoln Theatre, and Savory Maine. Kathi travelled to Texas to record.

Kathi also sang along with Nan Jones' Rusty Hinges group.

In her most recent album Beauty is Bigger (Greater than Gold) released in 2020, Kathi - Beautybellajoy, ambles through the ruins of experience with an optimism that defies the heaviness of life and struggle.
