Kapwa & Krafting: Parol Making Workshop

Join us for an exciting and creative online workshop where we'll be making traditional Filipino parols (ornament sized)! Learn how to craft these beautiful lanterns while connecting with others in the community and have the opportunity to share stories and traditions of what it means to celebrate the holidays as Filipinx/a/o Americans. No crafting experience necessary - just bring your enthusiasm and creativity!

This fun workshop will be facilitated by Therapin*y Chicago Midwest Chapter's Co-Leads: Angelika Holleran, M.Ed, LPCC & Kaye Ferreria-Fong, LCPC. They will be joined by Stephanie Vivit Lehmann, MPH, RN, Children's Book Author of Time to Shine.

Suggested materials to prepare:

• popsicle sticks
• markers
• scissors
• glue, tape, glue dots, hot glue gun
• crepe/tissue paper in various colors
• pipe cleaners
• twine, yarn, or strings to tie ornament
• other crafting materials like poms, sequins, etc. to decorate your parol
