Calling teachers, principals, language coordinators, social studies coordinators, school administrators, district staff, and state educational administrators!
- Do you want to help your students and teachers develop global and cultural skills, but don't know where to start?
- Do you need more resources for teaching international topics and foreign languages at the K-12 level?
The Department of Education – in collaboration with the Title VI National and Language Resource Centers for international and foreign language education at The George Washington University, Georgetown University, and Howard University – invite you to a workshop aimed at helping K-12 school administrators and teachers incorporate a global dimension into U.S. schools and classrooms.
K-12 outreach experts from designated National and Language Resource Centers will provide information and resources for K-12 teachers and administrators wishing to help their students develop the global and cultural competencies critical for success in the 21st century.
The workshop will feature mini demonstrations from:
- The Center for African Studies at Howard University
- The Institute for Middle East Studies at The George Washington University
- The National Resource Center on the Middle East and North Africa at Georgetown University
- The Assessment and Evaluation Language Resource Center at Georgetown University
The workshop will take place on Monday, November 13th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at U.S. Department of Education headquarters:

Educators from any area of the country are welcome to attend this workshop. Attendees will be responsible for covering the costs of their own travel, meals, lodging, etc. If you are unable to attend in person, but still want to learn more about incorporating a global dimension in your classroom or school, you may livestream the event HERE.
