Description

Calling teachers, principals, language coordinators, social studies coordinators, school administrators, district staff, and state educational administrators!

  • Do you want to help your students and teachers develop global and cultural skills, but don't know where to start?
  • Do you need more resources for teaching international topics and foreign languages at the K-12 level?

The Department of Education – in collaboration with the Title VI National and Language Resource Centers for international and foreign language education at The George Washington University, Georgetown University, and Howard University – invite you to a workshop aimed at helping K-12 school administrators and teachers incorporate a global dimension into U.S. schools and classrooms.

K-12 outreach experts from designated National and Language Resource Centers will provide information and resources for K-12 teachers and administrators wishing to help their students develop the global and cultural competencies critical for success in the 21st century.

The workshop will feature mini demonstrations from:

  • The Center for African Studies at Howard University
  • The Institute for Middle East Studies at The George Washington University
  • The National Resource Center on the Middle East and North Africa at Georgetown University
  • The Assessment and Evaluation Language Resource Center at Georgetown University

The workshop will take place on Monday, November 13th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at U.S. Department of Education headquarters:

Lyndon Baines Johnson Building, Barnard Auditorium
400 Maryland Avenue, SW
Washington, DC 20202
