Justice At Last Screening & Discussion At Our San Francisco Office!

Please join us for a hybrid screening and panel discussion of the documentary film “This Adventure Called California.”

The hybrid screening will occur at the Tides Converge located in the Presidio and simultaneously will also be shown on Zoom (registration material forthcoming).

To help create awareness that human trafficking happens in our own San Francisco Bay Area backyards on July 30, 2025, which is World Day Against Trafficking in Persons Day, we are delighted to be partnering with Tree Climber Media and award winning Producer and Director Jennifer Huang and show this film that addresses the vulnerabilities of being trafficked and re-exploited and the the determination and incredible resilience of the protagonist, Arnoldo Lopez Contreras to move forward and overcome constant obstacles.

The screening will be followed by a discussion on the impact and challenges of trafficking in our communities. Panelists include:

  • Rafael Bautista, Chair of the US Advisory Council on Human Trafficking
  • Genesis Duong, Justice At Last Client Advocate Program Manager
  • Ruth Silver Taube, Law Office of Silver & Taube; Adjunct Professor, SCU School of Law; Special Counsel, Legal Aid at Work
  • Ben Sinoff, Deputy District Attorney of the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office

In-person attendees at the Tides Converge will be provided lunch and refreshments catered by The Grove so please indicate your meal preference during registration.

This event is being offered for free to encourage participation and engagement with a suggested donation of $15 to cover food expenses. Please proceed here to donate.
