In celebration of Juneteenth, Kemper Museum is proud to present acclaimed jazz flautist Amber Underwood and her dynamic band, Flutienastiness, and the SoulPatrol featuring powerhouse vocalist Paula Saunders. Joined by local musicians, they’ll bring a “joyful noise” that honors the rich legacy, resilience, and beauty of African American art, history, and music.
Visitors are invited to enjoy our extended museum hours on Friday, June 20 from 10:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m. to view our current exhibitions before the performance! Experience the rich musicality of Stan Douglas: Metronome or the expansive possibilities of riffing in Riffs on Real Time.
Featured Artists:
Desmond Mason, Piano
DeAndre Manning, Bass
Jay Standley, Drums
Paula Saunders, Vocals
Amber Underwood, Flute
