This community organizing teach-in will inform attendees about how political education liberates us from the chains of ignorance and restlessness by helping them understand how political systems pit working class people against each other, ignore their healthcare needs, while capitulating to the systems' true villains (billionaires and compromised leaders) through a interactive, discussion based exercise called “The Chair," lead by Educator & Organizer Arthur Dennis. Throughout the experience, attendees will role-play, ask and answer questions, and laugh more as we experience how everyday citizens (like you and me) can create real power from perceived powerlessness by learning the importance of collective action.Afterwards, we will discuss ways you can take action against the healthcare wrongs happening from the federal level to the local level. Join Africa International House, The Young Democrats of Chicago, Kenwood United Church of Christ, The People's Lobby (Pending Confirmation), & others as we learn how we can organize effectively and in community. Door opens at 11:30a for lunch. Program Starts at 12p Sharp!
