Join RIFMA for the June Flood Talk Friday! Alissa Cox, PhD is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Natural Resources Science department at URI, and the Director of the Onsite Wastewater Resource Center. Alissa will speak about how flooding can impact our septic systems, some of the most underappreciated below-ground infrastructure that have major implications for nearby human and environmental health. Both coastal and inland flooding events, can impair septic system function and cause serious damage to systems not designed or installed to withstand this type of event.
