Why Soroptimist?We are a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to education and training to achieve economic empowerment, especially those overcoming significant life challenges.
Soroptimist International was founded in 1921 in Oakland, California, during a time when women were excluded from service clubs. Today, Soroptimist is a global movement with over 25,000 members and supporters across North America, Latin America, and the Pacific Rim—and part of a worldwide network in over 120 countries.
