Joyfully Queer: The Art of Rest — Embracing Self-Compassion in the New Year
Overview
As queer people, we’re often expected to work twice as hard to be seen and valued. What if, instead, we approached ourselves with rest and self-compassion?
Join Bethany Meier-Evans, Queer Joy Coach and author of Joyfully Queer: A Mosaic of Self-Love, Community, and Resistance (coming April, 2026), for a restorative workshop that invites you to slow down and reconnect with your body, your boundaries, and your inner gentleness. Together, we’ll explore rest and self-compassion as radical queer practices that nurture our joy and sustain our magic for the year ahead.
Through guided reflection, meditation, and journaling, you will:
- Redefine what rest means for you as a queer person
- Practice self-compassion through gentle exercises and affirmations
- Identify what helps you feel safe, soft, and replenished
- Create a personal “rest manifesto” to carry into 2026
This workshop will be recorded for those who cannot attend the live event.

Hi, I’m Bethany Meier-Evans, your Interfaith Minister of Queer Joy & Creative Liberation. I’m the author of Joyfully Queer: A Mosaic of Self-Love, Community, and Resistance (coming April, 2026) and a Queer Joy Coach helping LGBTQ+ folks reclaim self-love, confidence, and authentic belonging.
I also lead the Joyfully Queer Collective, a supportive community on Facebook, TikTok, and Patreon where we explore what it means to live, love, and thrive as our full, radiant selves.
Through writing, teaching, and community care, my mission is to remind us all that queer joy is sacred, revolutionary, and deeply human — and that we deserve to experience it every day!
