Josie is a singer-songwriter from Barnum Minnesota who loves to frequent Duluth. Whether that’s joining Grant Glad in a closet to discuss music for his podcast, singing at Wussow’s open mic on Wednesday’s, or just going to Goodwill. Chances are she’s on that hill somewhere. Josie writes stories about screwing up, never leaving your home town, and dying as she pulls from influences such as Adrienne Lenker, Odie Leigh, and Daffo. Her folky rhythms and honest lyrics will really make you listen.

Frequently asked questions

Isn't Pulse Barre & Fitness a workout studio?

Normally it is! But we are taking it over the first Saturday of each month starting in August to offer up listening room style concerts. Similar to how the Xcel Energy Center can be used for both Hockey Games (Go Frost!) or for concerts. The space is multipurpose.

Will there be seating?

Yes! We will have chairs for everyone. Tickets are general admission, so where you sit is on a first come first serve basis.

Will there be alcohol?

Nope! but we will have good N/A beer options, along with mocktails, sparkling water, coffee and just good ol' plain H20.

It looks like this is in a strip mall, where do I park?

We have a lot that is open to all of our guests. We simply ask that you park along the building where you can and not in the Bridgemans parking lot.

Are these shows family friendly?

Absolutely! All of the acts have been hand selected to offer up a great experience from anyone ages 1-99.

I've never heard of a listening room before, what does that mean?

You know when your favorite band is playing at a bar and you can't hear them over the sound of everyone talking around you? this is the opposite of that. Listening Rooms are spaces dedicated to simply listening to the music being performed for you. No chit chat to distract you.

Will there be food?

Unfortunately not, but Bridgemans is right across the street if you want to grab a good dinner before the show!

How long will the shows be?

The opening act will perform a 45 minute set, followed by a 15 minute intermission, and then the Main Act will also do a 45 minute set.

Is there a bathroom?

There is 1single occupancy bathroom available.
