Join Us to Explore a New Initiative for Disaster Preparedness & Resilience

By United Way of Southwest Virginia

Overview

Come join us to learn about a new initiative for disaster preparedness and community building!

Please join us to discuss a project aimed at improving community disaster preparedness and economic resilience in Southeast Viriginia.

The Virginia Tech Applied Research Corporation (VT-ARC), in partnership with the Virginia Tech Southwest Center and Financial Empowerment Partners, is preparing to launch a research project in Southwest Virginia that will assess the impact of cutting-edge digital payments innovation and other advanced IT solutions on the effectiveness and efficiency of disaster relief funds delivery and overall community readiness.

In order for this research project to be successful and yield longer-term benefits for Southwest Virginia and other communities across America that face natural disasters, we are requesting support and participation from individuals, households, businesses, NGO’s, churches, charities, and other institutions.

Participants will be compensated for their roles in the project.
