About this event
In this information session, program directors will outline the Johnson Summer Startup Accelerator (JSSA) schedule and expectations, and attendees will have the chance to ask questions.
The information session will also introduce students to the Vrinda Kadiyali Student Entrepreneur Fund, a stipend which empowers MBA students to stay focused on their startups, while reducing the financial pressures they may face to accept a paid corporate internship.
About JSSA:
The Johnson Summer Startup Accelerator (JSSA) is a summer-long intensive that helps graduate student-led teams from the SC Johnson College of Business continue growing their startups and build off the momentum they generated in the spring semester. JSSA’s flexible nature cultivates a foundation for success. Program participants are able to devote their summers to working solely on their startup or simultaneously hold a full-time job or internship.
Supported by numerous Cornell and Ithaca entrepreneurial resources, teams will participate in workshops and meet regularly with Entrepreneurs in Residence, seasoned entrepreneurs, and investors to guide them on their startup journey. The program provides virtual programming on Tuesdays and allows MBA students to work on their startup and meet with mentors on their own schedule.
The summer programming also includes a trek to NYC, where teams will have the opportunity to meet with investors and founders. The experience concludes with a Demo Day in Ithaca in September where companies are able to share their progress and pitch to a group of Cornell stakeholders and a live audience.
Applications are open through March 30, 2023. Apply today!
About the Vrinda Kadiyali Student Entrepreneur Fund:
The Professor Vrinda Kadiyali Student Entrepreneur Fund provides $10K stipends to first year MBA students enrolled in the two-year residential program so they can focus on their startups full-time while they participate in the Johnson Summer Startup Accelerator between their first and second years. The stipend empowers MBA students to remain devoted to their startups, while reducing the financial pressures they may face to accept a paid corporate internship.
MBA students who have completed their first year and have applied to the Johnson Summer Startup Accelerator are encouraged to apply and will be evaluated for the award by a committee under the administration of the Dean.
Applications for the Vrinda Kadiyali Student Entrepreneur Fund are now open. Apply today!
