About this event

Business • Career

JobNet 2.0 is a new group developed by the Bay Area Human Resources Connections (baHRC), explicitly designed for Human Resources and Talent Acquisition professionals navigating career transitions. This isn’t just another job board, panel, or passive event. It’s a peer-led initiative, facilitated by individuals who have experience on both sides of the hiring table. While baHRC will continue to focus on broader, strategic topics relevant to our profession, JobNet 2.0 is about building a supportive community for those in transition—offering connection, guidance, and a sense of belonging when it’s needed most.

We're looking forward to your participation in this conversation. Seize this opportunity to connect, learn, and advance together. We will also be crowdsourcing an Elevator Pitch. This is a relational, not transactional, peer-led group, and we deeply value the confidentiality and respect we hold for one another. We hope to see you there!

Our facilitator for this upcoming session is Wayne Rainey, a seasoned HR professional with over 30 years of experience spanning startups in the biotech and medical device space to large multinational organizations. A former board member of Phase2Careers, a Bay Area nonprofit dedicated to supporting workers over 40 in their job searches, Wayne is deeply committed to empowering professionals at every stage of their careers. Currently, Wayne is the writer and creator behind The Career Cantina, where he shares practical, no-nonsense advice through articles and podcasts.

His work focuses on helping job seekers navigate today’s ever-changing market with actionable tips, a touch of humor, and, of course, the occasional Star Wars reference.

From coaching individuals on crafting compelling resumes to teaching HR professionals the art of effective, prompt writing with tools like ChatGPT, Wayne takes a hands-on approach that blends insight, innovation, and empathy. Whether through his workshops, writing, or one-on-one coaching, Wayne’s mission is to help others succeed in their careers by providing tools and strategies that work in the real world.

Our co-facilitator for this upcoming session is Tammy K. Rainey, HR Executive, Culture Engineer.
