Jika Jika! 25 Years of throwing parties - MR C [SUPERFREQ-THE SHAMEN]
Overview
Delighted to add one of the most influential names of the acid house generation to the roster of talent that have performed for us over the last 25 years.
Mr. C joins an elite list of underground luminaries who've performed at Jika Jika over the years, including Adam Beyer, Ben Klock, Dax J, Dense & Pika, Dubfire, Jeff Mills, Josh Wink, Joseph Capriati, Kenny Larkin, Marcel Dettmann, Ryan Elliott, Slam, Steffi, Sven Väth, and many more.
Mr. C will deliver an extended 3-hour set alongside a lineup of our favorite DJs at Nacional De Cuba. To encourage early ticket purchases—which really helps us as independent promoters—we're offering earlybirds at £12, standards at £15, and a limited final allocation at £20.
Mr. C, began his career in London's underground music scene in 1987 as an MC and DJ, performing at early acid house events such as those at the RIP venue. In 1995, he co-founded the legendary End nightclub, which became a key hub for electronic music. As the frontman for the band The Shamen from 1989 to 1998, he contributed to their success, including the UK number-one single "Ebeneezer Goode" in 1992 and the top-10 hit "Move Any Mountain" in 1991. Mr. C is credited with pioneering tech house music under aliases like Myster-E, releasing the influential 1987 track "Page 67." He established record labels including Superfreq in 2003, Plink Plonk, and End Recordings to support experimental electronic artists. Today, he continues to perform international DJ residencies and release new music.
