Journal of Cell Biology (JCB) and Journal of Experimental Medicine (JEM) present "Neurodegenerative Diseases: Emerging mechanisms and Therapeutic opportunities," a two-day virtual symposium on neurodegeneration bringing together prominent and diverse researchers for talks and poster presentations on the latest advances in fundamental and translational research on:

Alzheimer’s disease (AD)
Parkinson’s disease (PD)
frontotemporal dementia (FTD)
amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
other neurodegenerative disorders

The format of the meeting will include two virtual sessions, each consisting of five to six 20-minute talks and one 12-minute short talk selected from abstract submissions, principally on unpublished work. In addition, there will be one virtual poster session. The organizers will select two abstracts for short talks.

Poster Presentations

The symposium will feature posters describing unpublished or very recently published research in the area of neurodegeneration. Poster presenters will have the opportunity to pitch their poster through a two-minute video ahead of the virtual poster session, as a part of the April 26 session of talks. To share their work with attendees during the virtual poster session, presenters will each have a one-hour Zoom room. Meeting participants can join a Zoom room to ask questions. One poster presenter will be chosen during the symposium to receive one 10.2-inch iPad Wi-Fi 128GB – Silver (retail: $429.00).

The organizers are committed to creating a collegial and constructive atmosphere and to providing professional development opportunities to a diverse group of junior researchers. The organizers encourage trainees of all levels to ask questions throughout the symposium and to contact organizers, presenters, and/or attendees in advance of the meeting to network and discuss their work.

Because talks and posters will present unpublished data, audio/video recording, filming, or photographing is prohibited during talks and the poster session.
