Blackbird Productions in collaboration with Georgia Straight Jazz Society and 40 Knots Winery present Jazz Session No.2: 'Afternoon Groove'

Based in the Comox Valley, guitarist Jeff Drummond and drummer Beau Stocker come together on a new duo project that takes hints from their own trios - Sinistrio and Ultraviolet - to blend groove, improvisation, classic melodies and global rhythmic influences. With collective experiences across Canada, the UK, Europe, and East Africa, their music draws from Jazz, Latin, East African, R&B, and Experimental music traditions. The resulting effects are unique to each performance that use both acoustic and digital instruments to deliver spontaneous musical creations as well as their own flavour on well known songs.
