JAZZ & GIN: A Speakeasy Soirée (Nov 14th)
- Patrick Soluri (Prohibition Productions)
Overview
Join us for hot jazz, cocktails and dancing at a former 1920s Brooklyn speakeasy, now an elegant art nouveau salon! Each month features NYC’s best swing bands and swing DJs, classic burlesque, craft cocktails, and a free dance lesson. The Club’s 1,200 sq ft ballroom boasts wooden floors, plus a lounge and gallery. As weather permits enjoy the outdoor patio w/cafe tables, garden, and dance on the porch!
Today this gorgeous club is just a 5 min walk from Beverly Road (Q subway), or 10 min walk from Church Ave (B or Q subway) stations. But during Prohibition, hooch was smuggled through a tunnel in the basement from the illicit distillery next door!
