About this event

  • Event lasts 6 hours 30 minutes

In this hands-on workshop, you will practice the beautiful art of Japanese Paper cutting. ‘Kirie’ first appeared in Japan in the 7th Century as an import from the Chinese mainland and literally translates as “to cut picture”. It is the art of making pictures by cutting paper. In this mindful and session, professional artist Pui Lee will help you to create your own unique design to be cut into paper to create a wonderful artwork to take home with you. The process is great for visual-arts lovers, those with an interest in traditional East Asian art-forms, as well as those who just want to try something different. Suitable for beginners. No prior experience necessary.
