Yes! Our Cultural and Innovative events are all free to attend. However, due to our limited capacity we require all attendees to RSVP.

We recommend public transportation. The Consulate is a 4-minute walk from South Station. Limited paid street parking is available, but it can fill up quickly.

When should I arrive?

We plan to begin admitting attendees to the 6th floor around 4:00 pm, once setup is complete. Please plan to arrive by 4:20 pm at the latest.

Join us for a fun, practical session on useful phrases and vocabulary for the holiday season in Japan. It’s a great fit for travelers and for anyone who wants to refresh their conversational skills.

The class includes a short interactive practice section to help you feel more comfortable using the expressions you learn.

Taught by Professor Mikiyo Hattori (Lecturer at Showa Boston and Founder and President of the Cultural Exchange Initiative), this session is open to complete beginners as well as those with a bit of Japanese experience.
