About this event

Expanded Mathematics Learning (K–6ish)

Come to a youcubed workshop that will share resources and pedagogical practices for anyone organizing out of school mathematics learning for K-6 students or to supplement district curricula with conceptual mathematics. We will share a set of materials that boost students’ mathematics achievement, help them enjoy math and develop growth mindsets. The workshop will focus on important grade level math (such as fractions) through conceptual and deep tasks. Come and learn from Dr Jo Boaler, Cathy Williams and the rest of the youcubed team.

  • Hands-on games and activities that strengthen number sense
  • Including engaging explorations of fractions and decimals
  • Open-ended problem-solving that fosters creativity and perseverance
  • Mindset-based strategies that transform students’ math experiences

Schools and districts can use after-school and intervention funding to provide accelerated learning opportunities that close gaps, spark joy in mathematics, and equip students to see themselves as confident, capable mathematicians.
