James Montgomery with Special Guest, Peter J. Newland and RadioX

James Montgomery is an American blues musician, best known as the lead singer, blues harp player, frontman, and bandleader of The James Montgomery Blues Band. Montgomery collaborates with many star performers and recording artists. He is also the past President of The New England Blues Society.

James Montgomery is set to play his first show in Springfield in years accompanied by his old friend Peter J. Newland in what promises to be the hottest show of the Fall in the area. Montgomery has opened for B.B. King and The Allman brothers, among others in Springfield, as well as having performed in area nightclubs. Along the way he developed a large and loyal following.

“I’m really excited about playing 52 Sumner! It’s a fantastic place dedicated to advancing the arts and providing top notch entertainment. I hope to see a lot of my old fans turn out for this one. My current line-up features musicians who were members of The J. Geils Band, The Joe Perry Project, The Blues Brothers, and a sax player from The Beach Boys. Adding Peter J. Newland and his band, Radio X, to this bill elevates this show to the next level. We have played together many times over the years and we love working together. I think of him as an icon in the Springfield area and beyond. We can’t wait for this one!”
