JACK MANLEY
Jack Manley, the Kingston, NY indie rocker whose songs balance raw confession with shoegaze-soaked guitars and haunted pop hooks, headlines Colony to celebrate the release of Wind in a Kite. The single and accompanying video mark the centerpiece of his debut album Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?, a record born from addiction, grief, and attempted rebirth. Manley’s music channels the brutal intimacy of Elliott Smith, the swagger of The Strokes, and the woozy surrealism of Deerhunter, pulling listeners through collapse, longing, and reflection. With support from NYC’s shoegaze/post-punk darlings Dairy and local punks Cryptidz, the night promises both hypnotic swells and urgent grit. Headlining Colony is a milestone full-circle moment for this once-troubled artist. Two and a half years ago at Colony’s open mic nights Jack first shared and workshopped the new songs he wrote in treatment after two near-fatal overdoses, many of which are featured now on his debut EP and forthcoming album.
