The Illinois Woman’s Press Association (IWPA) is personally inviting you to attend our exciting Fall Writer’s Workshop happening this Saturday, October 25th, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the South Holland Public Library (16250 Wausau Avenue, South Holland, IL).

This free, in-person event is open to all writers, communicators, and creatives who want to grow, connect, and be inspired. The afternoon will feature educational sessions, live readings, and networking opportunities in a welcoming and creative environment.

What to Expect:

  • Expert speakers sharing insights on topics like Using AI as a Resource, Playwright 101, Marketing Yourself as a Writer, and more.
  • A Q&A after each session, giving you the chance to engage directly with our panel of professionals.
  • Open readings — attendees can share short samples of their poetry, stories, or in-progress work (with a 5-minute limit).
  • Networking and discussion time to connect with other writers and communicators.

Our featured speakers include Charlie Artsey (producer and social media creator), Benaiah Link (award-winning playwright), Alex Ross (self-published author, designer, and photographer), Victor Gulley (radio host and playwright), Janice Newman (television host, author, and columnist), Mabel Fleming (podcast host), and others.

Please bring your paper, fully charged tablet, or laptop to work on during the sessions.

  • 📚 A table will be available for attendees to display books or materials (for display only, not for sale).
  • ☕ Light snacks and beverages will be served.
