Ittihad: A sonic exploration of language
Overview
ITTIHAD: A SONIC EXPLORATION OF LANGUAGE
JOIN US ON THE 6TH OF DECEMBER | FUNDRAISER GIG | 6PM - LATE.
Come together for an evening of music and solidarity in support of Collective Aid, an organisation working to end deaths at Europe’s borders once and for all. The night will be hosted at Worlding, an emerging nonprofit community hub and residency space in Elephant and Castle.
Enjoy three live performances from talented UK-based musicians curated by Sessions, each exploring their relationship to language through sound, celebrating South East London’s multicultural identity. Food will be provided by Zar’s Plate, inspired by the evening’s theme, alongside mulled wine and hot chocolate!
‘Ittihad’ - unity - a word carried through the languages spoken by the people we stand with at the border, serves as a reminder that solidarity traverses both language and borders.
