ITS 101 & 102 - Introductory and Intermediate Networking

We are excited to announce that, in conjunction with WSDOT SC & EtherWAN, Evergreen ITS will be hosting 'Intro & Intermediate ITS Network Trainings’ at the WSDOT East Selah Maintenance Office. This complimentary training will be held on Wednesday, May 28th from 8:30am-2:30pm & Thursday, May 29th from 8:30am-2:30pm. There will be hands-on training, with laptops and network switches provided by EtherWAN.

The first half of the class will be the theoretical session of the training with the second half being hands-on. We are limiting the number of registrations for this training based on the number of seats that are available for the hands-on session. If you plan to only attend the theoretical session in the morning, please do not register. Instead, just email me at hank@evergreen-its.com and we will put you on the list for the morning session. Only register if you plan on sitting through both the theoretical and hands-on sessions.

Donuts and bagels will be provided in the morning as well as lunch around noon. Please email me if you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies. If you feel anyone within your agency would benefit from this training, please do not hesitate to forward them this invitation. If you have any further questions besides the FAQs below, or would like to receive additional details for this training, do not hesitate to reach out. We look forward to seeing you on May 28th and May 29th!

Frequently asked questions

Will I need to bring my own laptop for the hands-on session?

Laptops will be provided by EtherWAN, but you may bring your own for the hands-on session. If you plan to use your own laptop, please make sure that you have administrative privileges to install 3rd party software and can make changes to your IP address settings.

Will food be provided?

Yes. Bagels, donuts, and coffee will be provided in the morning with lunch being provided around noon. Various snacks and beverages will also be available throughout the day. Please email hank@evergreen-its.com if you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies.

Is this training more suited for engineers, or signal technicians?

Both. The first half of the training will be more focused on networking theory, with the second half being mostly hands-on to help emulate working in the traffic signal cabinet.

Do I need to attend both sessions, or can I just attend one?

No, you do not have to attend both sessions. You’re welcome to attend just one. Please be sure to select a ticket for the specific session you’ll be attending so we can keep an accurate RSVP list.
