About this event

Community • Heritage

Through food, beverage and history, celebrate the Caribbean by learning about the uniqueness and similarities of the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Haiti. This event will highlight the indigenous Taino people and their foundational role within the islands. Samples of cultural food and beverages served.

This event is in collaboration with the Dominican American Midwest Association (DAMA), the Puerto Rican Arts Alliance (PRAA) and the Chicago Cultural Alliance (CCA)'s Journey Chicago Events. This is an all ages event.

All ticket sales and donations will be evenly split between HAMOC, DAMA and PRAA.

About Journey Chicago

Journey Chicago is a month-long festival of cross-cultural events at neighborhood and suburban cultural heritage institutions, featuring several Members of the Chicago Cultural Alliance. Journey Chicago 2025 will take place throughout the month of October, showcasing the diversity of the city’s food, art, music, dance, and culture.

Free Parking is available at the US Bank employee parking lot on 3617 W Oakdale Ave across the street from the customer lot. West Oakdale Ave. is a block south of the Milwaukee/Central Park Ave. intersection. Please see below a map of the avabilable parking.
