Christian Palmieri '03, Vice President, Intellectual Property Counsel, Legal & Business Affairs at A+E Networks will discuss legal issues in intellectual property that are prevalent in the media industry. Mr. Palmieri is a Global Intellectual Property and Information Society lawyer with extensive experience providing legal and business affairs counsel to senior executives at publicly and privately held companies. His areas of expertise include Intellectual Property & Information Society Law, as well as Compliance, Litigation and Corporate Business Affairs. His work history includes leading and managing in fast-paced, high-growth companies. His previous career in marketing and branding in the US and EU translates to being a confident legal counsel who works well with business people. He obtained his J.D. from Cardozo ('03) and his LL.M. from Kings College London ('14).

He is AETN's key advisor to senior executives around the globe on all Intellectual Property and Information Society matters, including Litigation and Consumer Products, as well as on Employment, Compliance, Cyber Security/Anti-Piracy matters, for A+E Networks® (encompassing A&E®, Lifetime®, HISTORY®, LMN®, and FYI™ networks, VICELAND™, A+E Digital™, A+E Studios®, A&E Indie Films® and A+E Ventures) and advises on matters of corporate strategy during a period of tremendous global expansion, including AETN's investment in Vice Media, launch of A&E TV Networks' Asian and European HQ, acquisition of regional JV’s, and global ventures. He is directly responsible for AETN receiving two nominations and winning a World Trademark Review Industry Award for Sports, Entertainment & Media IP Team of the Year.

Mr. Palmieri was appointed to the AETN Global Content Anti-Piracy Task Force, has worked on the implementation of anti-piracy efforts across multiple distribution platforms, and drafts anti-piracy polices and implement anti-piracy systems and technology.
