Skip the crowded stores and join the 52 Hike Challenge Iowa Chapter on a 3-mile hike down the East Lake and Bluebird trails in Backbone State Park. We will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the 52 Hike Challenge and REI #OptOutside.
When: Friday, November 28, 2025 at 10:00 am.
Skill Level: Beginner. Trail is mostly flat with a few small uphills. There may be some roots and rocks on the trail.
Attire: Be sure to wear adequate clothes and shoes for the hike. Bring a water bottle. Snacks will be provided.
Parking: Please enter the South Gate of the park. We will meet in the parking area near the Boat house and beach. Parking is free.
Restroom Note: The modern restroom near the parking lot is closed for the season. There are a couple pit toilets located elsewhere in the park that are available.
