It's hard to win if you don't understand the rules. In contracting, that means having a good grasp of Iowa's hybrid system for building codes, which allows local jurisdictions to adopt certain types of guidelines while other restrictions extend throughout the entire state. How do you know which set you're supposed to follow?
CIRAS is hosting a half-day event in Sioux City to help contractors understand the system and make new contacts in the industry. Attendees will hear experts discuss Iowa building codes, where the boundaries lie between jurisdictions, and what could happen if the rules aren't followed. That presentation will be followed by a networking session to help foster and build relationships between Iowa companies in the construction industry.
A light breakfast and coffee will be served at this event.
