Britain has voted to leave the European Union. However, in the weeks that have followed the result there have been many calling for the outcome to be challenged or overturned. A legal case has been launched seeking to force a parliamentary vote prior to invoking Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty. Politicians have been declaring that Brexit can be prevented, portraying the vote as a moment of 'madness' triggered by the lies of the official leave campaign. Tens of thousands have marched on parliament in support of the EU and demanding that we remain despite the vote.

It is clear that the result has left many people with a sense of loss and disorientation. Others see the result as the chance to shape our own future. But while the referendum was robustly contested, now is not the time to stop talking to each other. Whether you voted leave or remain, we want to start a conversation about what we do next. Was this vote a win for bigotry or does it reflect a desire on behalf of British people to control their own fate? Are we facing an economic disaster or are the opportunities outside of Europe enough to help us avoid catastrophe? Can parliamentary politics continue as normal or does this vote represent a new era for British democracy?
