About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours 30 minutes

Duke’s Office for Translation & Commercialization would like to invite you to the 7th Invented at Duke, a special celebration and showcase of Duke inventors and inventions.

This year, we will be holding it on Tuesday, 11 November 2025, 4:30-7PM, at the beautiful Penn Pavilion on Duke campus.

We’ll have remarks from President Price, head of OTC Robin Rasor, and our featured speaker beginning at 5:30PM. Dr. Ken Gall, professor in the Thomas Lord Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science, will be our featured speaker this year.

Besides his academic position at Duke, Dr. Gall is a serial entrepreneur at the forefront of medical device innovation. His research on 3D printing, biomaterials, and the mechanics of metals and polymers has resulted in numerous start-up ventures and successful commercial products in the orthopedic space. Over his career, he has founded over ten companies, including those with successful exits like MedShape, Vertera Spine, and InnAVasc Medical, as well as ongoing ventures such as restor3d and Reselute. Widely regarded for his energy and commitment to innovation, Dr. Gall continues to mentor teams working at the intersection of engineering and healthcare.

Beyond our featured remarks, there will be featured inventors with booths, drinks and hors d’oeuvres, gifts for Duke inventors who register and attend, and more. You will see innovations and companies that have not only been started by Duke faculty and students, but have also been supported through funding and mentoring by a variety of Duke translational funds, incubators, and more.

Whether you're already part of the Duke entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem or you're just starting to explore how to bring your research out to the public - or perhaps you're a member of the wider Triangle technology commercialization ecosystem - there will be something to learn and celebrate. We hope to see you there!

Please RSVP ASAP.

Badges will be premade for those registered by Fri 11/7.

Attire: business casual.
