Introduction to Sourdough Bread Baking - Saturday, December 6th, 3 pm
Overview
This 3.5-hour-long hands-on workshop will teach you how to make a delicious sourdough wheat country loaf. We will guide you through the process, from creating your sourdough starter to the correct mixing, bulk fermentation, shaping your dough, scoring, and baking in your oven. You will learn about the benefits of baking with sourdough and how to maintain a sourdough starter. You will mix and shape one bread dough in class to bake the next day at home, and you will score and bake a loaf in class. During the dough resting phases, we will offer samples of our Artisan breads for tasting. All baking utensils and ingredients will be supplied, including a sample of our wheat sourdough starter so you can continue baking at your leisure. The class takes place in the intimate setting of our private kitchen/cottage bakery. We keep class sizes small (5-7 participants) for the best possible learning.
Total class fee is $130. A registration deposit of $50 will secure your seat in class.
