Event description
Join Silversmith Sophie Piddock and learn how to create a unique piece of jewellery to take home.

About this Event

Sophie will guide you to create your own unique piece of jewellery; learn how to cut, file, sand and polish silver to create a pendant necklace from a 3x3cm piece of sheet silver.

There will be demonstrations and examples of jewellery in different styles to look at. You will have access to your own bench peg and saw. You will learn different effects using a variety of hammers and steel blocks.

You will get the chance to practice on a piece of copper before you tackle your finished piece.

No previous skills are required!

Please bring an apron to protect clothing and catch falling silver.

What will I go home with?

All materials on the workshop are provided including: Silver, necklace, jewellery bag and polishing cloth

You will go home with a completed piece of jewellery.

This workshop is open to adults and children 14+ if accompanied by a paying adult.

This workshop will start promptly at 1.30pm so please arrive to register by 1.15pm.

Please note this workshop will take place alongside three other workshops and is part of a whole day of creative events.

If you would like to join the Cam Valley Arts Trail Group for lunch before the workshop then do bring a packed lunch. Lunch is from 12.30pm.
