In this training session, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of research data management (RDM), the university and faculty policy on the handling of research data and software and the resources available to you. You will also learn how to write a Data Management Plan (DMP) for your research project. This is an interactive workshop where you will be guided through the process of making a DMP for your project with the assistance of the faculty Data Stewards.
We will cover:
- What is RDM and why is it necessary
- What is expected with regard to handling research data and code/software
- What a DMP is and when it is required.
- How to use DMPonline to create a DMP, and where to get support when you need it.
- What we mean by “data” and “personal data”
- How to choose a licence for your data / software.
- What you need to do to archive your data.
