Learn the newest offerings from React.JS!

About this Event

React, like any front-end framework evolves. In one of the more modern releases, the React team introduced an entirely new way of thinking.

Tonight, we’ll be introducing what hooks are and how we came to use them. We’ll discuss the benefits of hooks over mixins, render props and higher order components and get started using useState, useRef and useEffect. You’ll see some demos of how to use these hooks properly and even how to make your own hooks. By the end of the night, you’ll be well on your way to including hooks in future applications!

Who is this meetup for:

If you’ve got a solid grasp of JavaScript and have used React before, you can get something out of this meetup. If you’re curious about this topic, and want to prepare yourself before this workshop: here is a free online course to take - we recommend getting through Intermediate JS at least.
