Introduction to Lost Wax Casting for Jewelry - Make Your Own Custom Pendant
Learn how to create your own pendant out of wax in the lost wax casting style of jewelry making.
In this 2 hour workshop you'll learn about the tools and the process with plenty of time to create your own unique piece. All tools and materials will be provided. Just bring your ideas!
First we will decide on your pendant design. Then we'll choose (depending on what you prefer) to either carve out of sheet wax or sculpt out of moldable wax. We can then add carved textures or keep it smooth. We'll finish all edges and then learn how to make a bail or jump ring out of wax to attach so that it will hang as you choose.
Wax is so much fun to work with - totally suitable for beginners, VERY forgiving of mistakes and the possibilities are endless. You will be hooked.
Casting and finishing costs are not included and will depend on the size of your piece and the material you choose (brass or sterling silver). Costs range between $40-$100 to be charged separately upon the piece being completed. I will ship your pendant (or you can arrange for pickup) within 2-4 weeks after class.
