Designed for classical dancers with a minimum of 3 years experience, this workshop will equip you with the essential building blocks of movement. Learn to master the intricacies of Karanas, the fundamental units of dance, as meticulously reconstructed by the revered Guru Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam and delve deep into the ancient wisdom of Natyasastra, the foundational text for all Indian classical dance forms.

About the instructor : Ramya Venkataraman is a professional Bharatanrityam artist, senior disciple of Guru Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam. She is a faculty at Nrithyodaya, specializing in 108 Karanas. Ramya has performed globally, holds degrees in Bharatanatyam and Economics, and completed a postgraduate diploma in Liberal studies. She initiated 'Padma Patra' for holistic education through arts, offering movement therapy, yoga, and Bharatanrityam. Ramya is also a Carnatic singer, certified yoga instructor, and theater arts facilitator for special needs. She teaches at IIT Madras and focuses on holistic wellness through her initiatives.
