A Creative Journal Workshop - Sip and Create with Boujee Bits
In this 3-hour make and take workshop, all supplies are provided for you to make your very own Junk Journal. You will receive an introduction to creative journaling (also known as “junk journaling”), a list of journaling ideas, a summary of the health benefits of journaling and tips for continuing your journaling practice at home. We will bind 15 folded pages into your journal using a 3-hole pamphlet stitch, resulting in 60 pages once bound. We will bead the binding and embellish the journal to make it your very own using coordinating pockets, tuck spots, texture elements, stickers. This workshop will have a fall-colored theme with beautiful embellishments and tags, so you can walk away with a new journal that can also hold your creativity, thoughts, and more!
This workshop will be guided by Janis Markopoulos. Janis has been paper crafting and scrapbooking since 1997 and recently discovered art journaling through a workshop she attended at Heal Tree in Lewes, DE in 2023. Afterwards, her art journaling evolved into creative journal making using a variety of recyclable products, fabrics, papers, and mixed media mediums such as watercolors, acrylic paints, texture pastes, embossing powders, foiling and even pressed flowers. Even the littlest bits of materials used can be saved and turned into creative elements, hence the name BOUJEE BITS.
She makes and sells many journals at local area craft fairs during the spring and fall. Janis has found that this creative outlet has helped her tremendously on her own healing journey from long term, complex grief. She feels writing and creating can be healing and her hope is that these beautiful journals will be used by healing humans everywhere. By listening to and answering the call of the universe, she now offers workshops to share the joy of making creative journals with others.
Space is limited to 10 people. Please register ahead of time to attend.
