About this event

Arts • Craft

The workshop takes place as part of the monthly Makers Market at Portobello Townhall and you will learn the basics of Cyanotype and have a chance to ask ALL the questions! We will focus on:

  • Getting an understanding of how the process works and what to look out for to get a successful result
  • A demonstration of how to coat your own paper (If you have one of those cyanotype kits at home, but you are not quite sure where to start, this workshop is for you!)
  • How to choose your objects
  • Cyanotype set-up for days without sun
  • Troubleshooting and creative techniques
  • You will go home with a selection of your own Cyanotypes

No prior knowledge is necessary. All material is provided. For this workshop we will work on paper I prepared beforehand. I will bring a selection of subject matter for the Cyanotypes but you are welcome to bring objects to experiment with (no bigger than A5). Flat, somewhat translucent objects tend to work best.

I will be in the Foyer of Porty Townhall (close to the coffee machine) from just before 11am on. See you there!
