This two-hour workshop is perfect for beginners who want to understand the basics of beekeeping and explore the fascinating ecology and behaviors of bees during the height of summer activity.
Led by Deborah Rubin—beekeeper from the Vermont Beeskeepers Association—this class will introduce you to:
- Bee biology and colony structure
- Seasonal tasks for summer beekeeping
- Hive inspection basics
- How bees support our ecosystem
We’ll begin at the conference center at 20 Rock Point Road for an intoduction in the classroom, and take a short drive to visit our active hives. Beekeeping protective gear will be provided.
