The proper use of generative AI tools can reshape and enhance archival management.

In this practical course designed for professional archivists and researchers, Alberto Puliafito will focus on introducing AI tools to deal with large language models in an archival environment, with an overview of the most used AI software (e.g., Chatgpt), and focussing on two more niche tools, NotebookLM and Pinpoint, which allowto transform document collections into interactive, queryable knowledge bases. You will learn to synthesize complex sources, extract structured data, and uncover historical connections while minimizing "hallucinations".

Alberto Puliafito is an Italian journalist, director, digital strategist, and media analyst. He is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Slow News, the first Italian project focused on slow journalism and the relations between news and history

Archives Portal Europe is the online search portal for the European archival heritage, which allows to search into archival collections from thousands of institutions through a simple keyword query.
