Introducing Saying When: An innovative App
Event Information
Description
Saying When, an innovative app from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), is designed to help people to cut down or quit drinking. The app is based on the Saying When: How to Quit Drinking or Cut Down self-help book, written by Dr. Martha Sanchez-Craig and published by CAMH. The book and the app are based on Dr. Sanchez-Craig’s ground-breaking, extensively researched program, which aims to help people understand and control their alcohol consumption. The app gives people an easy way to track drinks and urges to drink, to set goals and to show progress. Canada’s Low-Risk Alcohol Drinking Guidelines (LRADG) are included in the app to define moderate drinking and to support a goal of quitting or cutting down on alcohol consumption.
This webinar for public health stakeholders is developed by the CAMH Health Promotion Resource Centre and CAMH Education. The webinar will provide information about the app, including its evidence base and function. The webinar will also provide an overview of a knowledge exchange plan developed in conjunction with public health stakeholders to support their work in promoting and sharing the Saying When app.
