Is this event really free? Why?

Accepted Answer

The Henry George School is operated by volunteers, and expenses are funded by past and recent donations.  Volunteers and donors know the importance of what we teach, and believe widespread understanding would elevate the discussion of public issues. Attendees will not be asked to donate or purchase.

Will this  session address 21st-century issues such as housing shortages, low wages, & unemployment?

Accepted Answer

Yes.  These aren't new problems, altho some aspects have changed over the years.  The fundamental problem is still "Why can't a person willing and able to work productively earn a reasonable living?"

Will this session teach me principles that I can use to become wealthy?

Accepted Answer

Possibly.  Some people have done exactly that. But we make no promises.

Do you really require that I show identification in order to attend this event?

Accepted Answer

This requirement is imposed by building management.  However, if it is a problem for you, send a message to events@hgchicago.org and we will figure out an alternative.
