About this event

Arts • Craft

Class Dates: Oct 14 - Dec 9 (no class Nov 25) Instructor: Sara

In Intro to Wheel Throwing, you’ll get hands-on instruction and individual practice time at the wheel, with experienced potter Sara Ballek on hand to guide you and answer questions along the way. No experience needed—just bring your curiosity and be ready to get your hands dirty!

Over eight weeks, you'll learn the basics of wheel-thrown pottery, from centering clay and shaping simple forms to trimming and glazing your finished pieces. You’ll even get to try making mugs, bowls, or plates—real, functional pottery you can use at home.

Wear clothes you don't mind getting clay on (it washes out) and closed-toed shoes. For wheel work, skip jewelry, roll up sleeves, and trim nails for the best experience. Let’s throw something great together!
