Intro to Watercolor for Hobbyists & Beginners
Overview
Curious about watercolor but not sure where to start? This Intro to Watercolor workshop is designed especially for beginners and hobbyists who want an easy & welcoming entry into the medium. No prior experience required.
Together, we’ll explore the absolute basics of watercolor, including:
- Wet-on-wet & wet-on-dry techniques
- Water control (how much water is actually enough)
- Brush movement and layering
- Simple ways to elevate nature-inspired imagery (plants, landscapes, organic forms)
This workshop is not all-encompassing or technical-heavy instead, it’s an invitation to get comfortable with watercolor, understand how it behaves, and discover how to use it as a tool for self-expression and play. The focus is on exploration, curiosity, and finding joy in the process rather than creating “perfect” or “finished” art.
You’ll be guided through short sections and demonstrations, with time to experiment, ask questions, and make the medium your own.
This workshop will provide you everything to explore this medium during the class. Tickets do not inlclude materials to take home. Opportunies to purchase take home materials will be avaliable at the end of the workshop.

This is a guided workshop broken into sections, and we will be starting promptly at 6:05 PM.
- Please plan to arrive on time so you don’t miss important introductions or foundational techniques.
- If you anticipate being late, feel free to let us know — just be aware that you may miss key material, and depending on where we are in the workshop, we may not be able to immediately revisit earlier sections.
- This is primarily to be respectful of participants who arrive on time and to maintain the flow of the workshop.
- The workshop will end at 8:00 PM, regardless of arrival time.

Purchasing tickets in advance is strongly encouraged. Due to limited availability and the nature of this guided workshop, we will not be accepting walk-ins.
